- Marquee
Ð Nancy Butterfield came to ask for
the Athletic Boosters participation in funds for a new electronic marquee
for the school. The
approximate cost of this new marquee will run around $20,000/$25,000. PTSA has offered $1000 and
possibly $4000 from leadership ASB funds, Senior class of Õ06 and
Renassinance. She is
beginning to send out donation requests from corporations and will do some
research on the cost needed to pay and install new marquee. She will come back to our next

to damage the new track.
Discussion about having school security the evening of the 26th
so lights to not be vandalized.
After game to take lights off track and chain all together.
- Spirit
Wear Ð Don Morrison has ordered
Spirit Wear.
- Use
Permits Ð Use Permits for our
meetings must be completed by the Athletic Boosters not Mario Balestrieri. Everything submitted so far is ok,
however, going forward we must submit the permits to Kathy Nofrey in the
office.
- Track
Equipment Ð Triss Carter talked about
how was the smartest way in spending the $20,000 that we have given her
for equipment. She mentioned that
since we now have a new track and field that other schools will be looking
at us to host league and invitational meets. Wanted to know if it made sense to purchase a timing
system for $7000 out of the $20,000.
The reason for her concern is due to the lack of parental help in
this sport. She needs to have
parents committed and trained on this equipment. A very long discussion in regards to parent help. She needs to have 10/12 people to
run a meet. Discussed other
equipment that will be purchased. Triss to talk to the company that we will use to
purchase and get the most equipment out of them that we can for the money
that we have.
ROUND TABLE
- Lengthy
discussion regarding parental help in sports. Some thought was to have a meeting with all parents of
athletes to talk about helping out the Track program. TrissÕs thoughts were that in most
sports the athletes run. They
could use xcountry and track and field as conditioning in their off
seasons. And hopefully,
parents will come out and help.
Another thought was to have Bal speak about this issue at the Fall
Sports Awards. Another
thought was to give money to coaches to help with their programs and in
turn hopefully they will try and help with parent participation and
communication on sports at YV.
- Talk
about using a pay pal account so we could accept credit cards and/or
payment online. May talk to
Gregg regarding this for crab feed.
- Our
new webmaster Greg Austin Ð has a lot of new ideas for our web site and
will start implementing the change.
REQUESTS
- Hand
washing in porta-poties Ð A request
was made to provide porta-poties with hand washing facilities at the
football field. The cost for
this will be $93 a month for two months. They will be cleaned every Monday. Motion approved by Jim Davis,
seconded by Julie Kaufman and unanimously approved by all.
- Girls
Soccer Ð A request of $2019.83 was
made for warm ups to be supplied for the girlÕs soccer team. These warms ups will stay with the
school. The girls soccer team
has already paid for their uniforms, balls, bags and other equipment. Motion approved by Kellye Dykeman,
seconded by Julie Kaufman and unanimously approved by all.
